Role: Level Designer

 

Responsibilities:

  • To block out a gameplay section for Target #1.

  • To place and balance AI as needed.

Challenges Faced:

  • To make a large open architectural space feel enclosed.

  • To block out a path that would be engaging to the player.

  • Placing the AI in strategic locations whilst adhering to the limitations of the editor.

  • Balancing the AI so that the right amount of difficulty is placed upon the player.

Lessons learnt & conclusion:

​

In short I feel that I achieved the objectives set out for this gameplay section. I learnt how to use an open-ended piece of architecture and close it down so that the player has a sense of achievement when they kill the target rather than simply rushing from point A to point B. I feel that there are a sufficient amount of enemies given that this is just 1 of 3 targets for the player.
